Site profile

Kijirjir.

There was no water source within or near Kijirjir School. Learners were required to carry water from home daily which was already scarce placing a burden the learners. The community relied on seasonal streams and shallow scoop holes which are unsafe and unreliable. The school’s sanitation infrastructure was dire with toilets being shared by teachers and learners. Across the villages surrounding the school, only 3% of the households had a sanitation facility.
